    Normal Paul's DB5

Post by Blow Failed Fri Mar 02, 2012 6:53 am

Just a few Initial Pics of the Engine.

I'll try and take decent pics over the weekend etc.

I dremeled the originial nuts off the head, sprayed the whole head with Humbrol (56) aluminium spray paint, then attached the acorn nuts with a gel variety of super glue, as it was easier to control.

    The boots were painted black

The distributor cap (drilled & painted) and wires were changed to make it look more realistic.

    Paul's DB5 DSC00336

The chrome effect for the OIL Cap was done using "bare-metal" & then painting back in the word "OIL"

    Paul's DB5 DSC00337

The gaskets were made out of card covered with tan leather - only because I have the leather & also I wanted a bit of depth to the gaskets.

For the exhaust manifold, I painted it gunmetal and then used a gold wash & then added brass acron nuts.

There are other things that I've done on the engine, but I'll need a bit of time to work out what I've done & how, so I can share it all.

Thats a superb looking engine. I bought the acorn nuts to but haven't yet put them on, must remember the gel glue method. :)

I thought I’d just put a few pics up of some of the accessories I’ve made for the DB5.

I call them “Blue Peter” jobs as they are just made out of bits & bobs I have lying around etc! e.g. the tools for the tool kit were mainly made out of florists wire and cotton bud tubes, and the roll out of some spare leather etc.

    Top L to R:
    • 1st briefcase, the notes were made by “Casper” (not me I hasten to add!), plus a couple of Action man bits
1960’s style fire extinguisher for a car
      2nd briefcase

    Paul's DB5 P1010001

    Middle Top L to R:
    • My take on an old car jack
      Toolkit

    Paul's DB5 P1010002

    Middle Bottom:
    1. AM Instruction book and workshop manual with leather covers

    Paul's DB5 P1010003

    Bottom L to R:
    • O.H.M.S.S. folder with accessories
      PPK Manual

I've now leathered the passenger seat & added the piping:

    Paul's DB5 P1010001-4

Instead of screwing the back in, I just leathered it all and glued it in position.

A couple of pics of the left rear wheel:

    Paul's DB5 P1010001

I’ve used some gold bare-metal for the top of the calliper – like I did for the front ones - it comes off with a bit of ease & then glued back in.

    Paul's DB5 P1010002

For the disc, that was a bare metal job again.

I also added a tyre valve (bit of a disposable lighter) and a wheel weight.
