My 1:1 Scale '67 Ford Anglia 105E Super

Hi peeps,

Just wanted to share afew pics of my latest purchase ( as requested by Chris ), a 1967 Anglia 105E Super, it has been locked in a garage since Oct 1989 and is a genuine 1 lady owner with only a mere 6778 miles on the clock :o , it has alot of history with it including the original bill of sale and logbook.
It was waxoyled from new, so the floors, sills, boot and door shuts are like new, along with the black vinyl interior. however the shell has plenty of patches of rust, but NO rust holes.

anyway here are the few pics i've got for the moment:






Any comments, good or bad are welcome and if members like I say do a proper build-up thread as the restoration progresses?

Just been and done alittle work on the 105, checked to make sure it'll roll ready for collecting, removed the wheel trims and hub caps ready for cleaning and collected most of the history for it too



Even has a supplying dealer tax disc holder with it

All been well we are collecting the anglia tomorrow, so I shall get a bunch of new piccies up then.



For the moment I thought I'd share some pics of my other 1:1 scale, My severely modified '85 Capri which me and my dad built afew years ago, was totally standard but now running a 5.0 V8 and a Aston Martin Vanquish 6-speed gearbox

Ohhhhhh yes, most interesting one was a guy in a Focus RS500, got the shock of his life when he went to overtake and I shot off into distance, that was without the nitrous too

A SOOOOOOO want that capri, grrrrrr. Bloody gorgeous

bloody great mate that is one beautiful car, would love to have a go in it

So today we've been and collected the anglia, so got a couple of pics as we loaded her up for the journey home.






Along with a pic of a newspaper I found in boot from 1969!


Hopefully be somemore pics on friday when we make a start on rubbing bodywork down.

With the weather been as it is, I've just spent 15 mins cleaning the very grubby seats, doorcards and dash top down:




Also took the boot carpet out, wiped the boot floor down and waxoyl everywhere I could get to:

Cheers guys, it needs plenty of work bodywise, 23 years in a damp garage have'nt done it any favours, but we'll get her looking good again.

So today we've taken most of the brightwork off, rear lights, headlights, radiator, horns, battery, washer bottle and started pulling the interior apart. We also went at it with a drill and wirebrushes which in-turn has shown up patches that need repairing, although thankfully they aint large areas that need replacing.

Also managed to strip out most of the interior today so we could give the seats and carpet a good clean. floorpans look very good:

It's going to be great to see a full restoration on this.



I love the way the seats are missing, but the Krook lock is still there

cant get over how neat this car is inside

If the weather holds off for over the weekend I'm hoping we might have it stripped to basically a bare shell within the next few days.

Hi peeps,

due to the weather we've not done a great deal on the Anglia itself, although we have removed the cylinder head, which my dad is stripping down at work at the moment.
what we've been doing while the weather is bad is sandblasting items off the Anglia and prepping them for painting and today I've given the front bumper a going over with T-Cut metal polish to see how it'd come up, so heres a before pic:



And a after pic:



Still wants another going over closer to refitting time, but at least it's looking better.

Well with the weather been in our favour today, we have relieved the Anglia of her engine and gearbox along with afew minor items.
It took a fair while to do as the splined shaft on the gearbox was quite rusty, so took some jiggling to get it to part company with the clutch plate :rolleyes:

Anyway here are a couple of pics of the empty space left behind:



Also removed the central crossmember, this is how the chassis legs look underneath all the bodyseal :thumbup1:


Hopefully not much longer and it'll be a bare shell and I can start cleaning and repainting underneath.

I would love to do a project like this myself but dont have a clue where to start

Not much to report of late due to the weather, although we have made a start on repainting items for the Anglia, here's a pic showing various parts ( engine, sump, prop shaft, bumper brackets ) that i've managed to get painted.





Also note my long-term kitcar project hiding under all the Anglia parts, I've had it since I was 13YO ( so had it 16 years ), unfortunately other projects keep getting in the way

Well with the weather being fine this afternoon, we've stripped all the rear brakes/damper units off the Anglia and taken the half-shafts out of the axle, cleaned the rear arches out and I've given both rear arches a coat of body underseal, Once the rest of the underneath has had a coat of this it'll be left to dry for a few days, I shall then paint the entire underneath with chipguard, then give it a top coat of Dacrylyte in off-white to match the body colour and finally a coating of waxoyl.

Hopefully my dad is going to clean where the petrol tank fixes tomorrow, so over the weekend I should be able to get the entire rear underbody painted.

The plan is to do it in 2 halves, do rear underboby painting first, then refurbish the axle & suspension, get that all refitted and then start on the front end.
